FLAVOR SELECTOR™  5.0   TUTORIAL

Flavor Selector is designed to develop or manage flavor information for sample requests, sales, marketing, flavor
development, application laboratory and related departments.

The outstanding feature of  the program is the unique query feature that allows all fields in any combination to be
 used in a
 query, including the memo field.

The program can be easily modified for your specific needs.

**************

The following screen shows a simple query which is activated by first clicking on one or more  field names. In this example the Name field is clicked on which turns it blue and activates the field for the query. Data entered in that field is used for the query.

After setting up the query field(s), click on the Query button and view the results of the query. In this example, 2 records were returned from this query showing there were 2 records with the name Banana.

The following is an example of using more than one field in a query. In this example Beverage was chosen for the Application field, and the Physical Form, Solubility, and Price/Lb fields were used in the query. The 2 records returned in the query met the criteria in the fields with blue field names. There is another feature called a drill down query which allow you to add query criteria to the results of a query and query again. This feature lets you drill down to very specific flavor properties.

As you can see the query feature is a powerful tool to send samples, prevent laboratory duplications, assist sales, etc. The program has a very short learning curve.

The six large fields across the bottom of the screen contains data in drop down list boxes, except for the memo field.. To access this data, right click on the field name and the list boxes will appear. Left click on the field name turns it blue and sets it up for a query.
The Restricted Ingredients field allow you to search for records that do or do not contain selected Restricted Ingredients.

All of the data in the drop down fields can be edited. By clicking on the Utility Command button. A list box as shown to the right allows adding, deleting or editing of these drop down list box items.

**************

The results of a query can be viewed or printed with the Report feature. After a query has been run click on the Report Command button. Type in a report name and all the records that meet the criteria will be reported as shown.
